Weaving
Transformation - Innovation - Qualification
During the year we arrange courses in beautiful surroundings in Denmark. For five days we work in a creative laboratory, focusing on the accuracy of techniques, challenging our boundaries, losing ourselves in the weave and enjoying the mutual
Our philosophy is to work with all senses, so that we through challenging teaching, music, movement, presence, hands work and good food explore the deeper layers of creativity.
3.-8. March 2013: Open structures
IIn this course we will work with openness, lightness space, transparency, floating and accuracy in our weave
Focus is on the various techniques that work well, whether it is a figurative expression, a sculpture or a basket.
In this course we will work to create a light, elegant, elevating and interesting weave. We will work with willow and other natural materials, wire, copper, zinc, metal wires, rubber, etc.
2.-7. June 2013: Bark
Stripping, rolling, folding, splitting, bending, platting, sowing and weaving bark.
During the week you will be introduced to various techniques that are suitable for working with bark and various presentations for inspiration.
You will try to peel and work with different varieties of willow bark and other wood species.
Some evenings there will be presentations about our topic, lectures and talk about bark baskets. If you have bark work, please bring a piece.
All three courses are residential courses in double rooms.
Price for teaching, food, accomodation: 2875dkr. Materials appr. 500 dkr, which is payed on the course.
There are also courses non residential. It is possible to ask for a room - 25 Euro in a doubble room, 35 Euro in a single room, it is witout food, but it is possible to make your own food in the kitchen.
